1. He is your biggest fan.
They say when your man is not your biggest fan, he is not your man to begin with. This is to say that when the best of things and circumstances knock on your door, your guy is the first one who is there for you, who appreciates you in all the ways he can, who shows how proud he is of you and all that you have accomplished and the first one to celebrate your good moments with you.
When you feel down, he will be the first one to cheer you up. In a way, he will idolise you with all the best of what he has to offer you. He may not hold the cheerleading pompoms for you but he will still be the first one to tell everyone else about your tiniest to biggest successes and achievements.
He will make you feel like the center of attention, the one under the spotlight and a superstar. That is only because he appreciates your growth as a person and wants you to never forget that someone out there is actually proud of your accomplishments in life.
2. He will be highly supportive, even in the losing moments
True support does not come by cheering when you win only. What matters more than that is holding on to faith in the other person especially in tough times, when loss is the only thing one sees.
Those tough times are indeed times for trying and the fact that your guy stands up for you in those moments proves how great he is. Instead of losing faith in you, he will only build you back up, harden your resolve and make you get back up on the track and try again.
Even when you fail, he will be there to hold the heavy weight of defeat with you but at the same time, he will make you stronger to fight again the next day. His support will always keep you motivated, even when you yourself start to doubt yourself. Know how great your boyfriend actually is when he makes you feel like a winner even when you tell yourself you are nothing more than a pathetic loser.
He truly and deeply cares for you and wants to see you get the best out of everything life has to offer and so, he will always provide you his resilient support and confidence, no matter how tough things might get.
3. He always keeps in touch
Imagine being away from your guy but waking up to his sweet good morning texts and sleeping to his warm declarations of love and care. Whether it is asking you if you have taken your meals on time or whether it is just a simply hello, your guy will not fail to text or call you. He will keep you updated on his doings and whereabouts, even if he is busy or out with friends.
If he wants, he would not even bother to do so but it is only because he is a great guy that he sees the necessity in keeping in touch with you, no matter the distance in between you two. Your conversations might not be the usual length, but the love will still be there.
By doing so, he is letting you know that no matter what he is doing, where he is going and who he is with – you are the one constant on his mind.
He will act like your own personal doctor
Health comes first – as we have been told like a mantra since we were kids. And your boyfriend realizes this for your sake better than anyone else. A great one, at that, will make the effort to know all about your health conditions. When you get sick, he will take a mental note of which medicines you have to take.
He will memorize the sort of diet you should be on if you are a bit diet-conscious. He will never let you feel physically helpless when you are not on your best of days in terms of health. And even if he does not manage to do any of this, you will always know how much he cares about you by his concern for you and his 'get well soon' wishes.
He hates it when you feel weak
Your boyfriend is a great one when he sees you crying, or having a slight breakdown or just downright feeling small and weak and feels more terrible than you.
He is your support system, so when he sees you teetering on the edge of weakness, he will feel like the worst guy on the planet. Not to mention his utmost efforts to make you feel better, he will also make sure you never feel that way again.
He hates to see you cry. This is a sign how much your boyfriend cares about you. Just as your smiles and achievements make him happy, your sorrow and tears make him sad too.
6. He is your hero
Your great boyfriend might not be Batman, or the richest guy in the world, or be an award-winner and own ten big jet planes. But he is still your hero – your unmasked and most humane hero.
When anyone hurts you or your feelings, does wrong to you or falsely accuses you and so on, your guy will suddenly turn all macho and be there to defend you no matter who and what he is up against. Your safety is his first concern.
He is your hero who will not only save you from the world but also from yourself. When the darkness inside you begins to consume the best in you, trust your guy to be there for you and to remind you of who you are, bring you back to yourself and save you from the monsters inside yourself.
The fact that he has no idea what he might be facing only proves how great and loving he truly is towards you.
He never minds your busy routine
If it is one in the morning and you return from work, your great boyfriend will not ask you what took you so long, will make sure you eat and get rest and will never angry or even the least bit frustrated when you are knee-deep in your work.
He understands you have a busy routine, so he knows better than to push you into straying from that routine. Instead, what he will do in fact is lend you a hand whenever he can; he will make sure you have everything you need right by your side and then, when you are all done with your work, he will offer to give you a relaxing time all to yourself, probably even do some chores around just to make things easier for you and anything else that will help you get the edge of work off of you.
He will always be supportive and patient with you and your work plus hectic routine.
He inspires you greatly
It is a sign that you don’t just have any boyfriend but a great and amazing one at that too, when he is your inspiration behind most things in life; things that matter the most anyway. When you so much as even think about giving up on your dream, he will keep you inspired and motivated. Just the thought of being with him tomorrow, and having him be a part of your future will keep you be enough inspiration for you to keep going and trying your best.
When the negatives of the world and society seem to get the better of you and you begin to doubt yourself, he will motivate you to not give in to those doubts and be the best person you can be. You will feel yourself coming back to life after almost giving up on your dreams and aspirations, through the inspiration and encouragement given to you by your guy.
He is your safe place
Having a great boyfriend includes having him be your home – that safe place you go to whenever things get ugly. He is your biggest support system. Before you go off to give a thesis defense or learn driving, he will make you feel nervous by words of comfort and consolation. When the worlds lets you down, he will take you somewhere fun and make it look like the world you two share amongst yourselves is the only one and the best one there is.
When you face major problems, whether in your personal life or work life or both, your great boyfriend will be your no.1 driving force to keep going and overcome those problems. He will not only give you strength to face your fears but will also face them with you, if that is what it takes.
All in all, his great love and sympathy for you revolves around the fact that he is your first and foremost support system and he will not let you break, no matter what life throws at you.
He values your differences
Similarities and differences exist in every relationship. The former never pose a threat but the latter are what lead to some arguments and clash of opinions. You will understand eventually how great your boyfriend is so great when you both have major differences when it comes to serious issues like religion, the belief in destiny and fate and so forth.
It might lead to igniting mild hard feelings, but even that will happen only once in a blue moon and besides, your guy will be understanding enough to not shove down his beliefs down your throat and instead, respect and differences.

Even though other girls might try to get to him, you know your guy will be loyal to you only because he will assure you of his trust. Even if both of you get jealous at times, at the end of the day, you both will find your way back to each other no matter the obstacles in that way.

If he wins a bonus at work or gets promoted to that special job and you couldn’t find time to celebrate right away, he will not mind. These and many other kinds of formalities won’t really matter to him, because his love for you far exceeds the rules of society.

Whether it’s in terms of physical beauty or your amazing personality – trust your guy to tell you beforehand how amazing you look even if you both know you aren’t the prettiest one around, and that you look great even in your PJs; trust him to see the best in you as a person and have that beauty let out in all the ways you can. He will appreciate you just as you are and it will feel more than enough.
He makes you feel safe and secure
Sometimes when you feel paranoid going to a huge public gathering or some such things, or make your way home with the scared little feeling that something bad might happen – your guy will make you safe and protect you at all costs.
Being around him will give you a sense of security, because deep down you know that despite you noticing it or not, your boyfriend is protecting you. He might not make a show of it, but it’s there. Your safety matters more to him than his own.
He never lets fights turn your relationship toxic
Your guy will not let the arguments and fights – that are the highlights of any relationship – ruin everything you both have worked so hard to build. He will do his best to resolve issues, make you see the logic behind all of it in a peaceful manner and so, he will not let the fights turn the relationship toxic in any way.
He might get angry and worried, but that’s only because he doesn’t want to lose you. You both manage to forgive each other within no time and that only makes you love him all the more.

Having a great boyfriend does not only mean he loves you the most or brings out the best in you like no one else does. Most relationships do not flourish because one does not entirely accept the other.
This is the key to having a healthy, long-lasting relationship with a great partner, to have them accept you just the way you. If your guy never tries to change you or control you, appreciates the kind of person you are and never complains about you haves and have-nots then know he is a great partner who truly accepts you for the kind of person you are.
He makes you feel very content
One of the biggest signs that you have a great boyfriend is when you do not find yourself playing the ‘what if’ game in your relationship.
That is to say, you know well the flaws present in your relationship but know that nothing is perfect; your boyfriend makes you feel happy and loved no matter and so, you don’t find yourself wishing for more because you know what you both have in the here and now is amazing and enough just the way it is.
He makes you feel like the luckiest person alive and that in itself is a sign of contentment. He gives you the peace you need to come to terms with what you have in the form of a relationship and no one complains. Win win for the both of you.

You will know how great and one-of-a-kind your guy is for you when he wants a future with you in it. whether it is about planning a career someplace new, buying a new car, getting a bunch of pets or starting a charity or something big in the future, your boyfriend will express to you his desire for you to be with him till that point in the future too and to be a part of whatever he does.
He does not want to lose you and truly values you and the relationship so much so as to make it last. Sometimes even the most serious relationships are thrown away due to lack of decision-making on ‘where the relationship is going.’ But if your boyfriend tells you pretty loud and clear that yes, he wants you to be a part of his life no matter how much further in the future he might make it, he’s the one.
